Global Programs at the Forum of Federations bring people together from all over the world to examine common problems, share experiences, understand the positions of others and work toward solutions in their own countries.
Global Programs focus on a single issue or a group of issues worldwide:
- A Global Dialogue on Federalism lets enables experts in different federal countries to examine structural themes in federalism, starting with a roundtable in their own country and culminating in an international roundtable. The insights they discover are shared in comparative publications: a booklet and a book on each topic.
- The International Conferences are the Forum's signature events. These triennial conferences on federalism are practitioner-oriented events that are organized around themes. They provide a unique forum for practitioners, academics and NGOs form around the world to learn about the latest in the practice of federalism from each other.
- The Young Professionals program offers a select number of practitioners in their twenties the opportunity to discover federalism from a new angle, encouraging them to understand its practice in new ways.
Thematic Programs enables sector experts in a variety of different federal countries to examine public policy issues in federal governance. The aim of the programs is to produce a series of policy-relevant and practitioner-oriented publications, comparing the experiences of different federations.
